How can the same sight be both sensuous and arresting, upsetting yet familiar? Polly Borland will show you if you’re game.

From deconstructions of the archetypal Playboy nymph featuring English actor Gwendolynne Christie (Bunny) to the playfully grotesqued features of Nick Cave and others (Smudge), Borland’s lens brings the abject and seductive to the figure.

Whether exquisitely distorted or extravagantly dressed, Borland’s subjects are captured in moments of vulnerability, with the surreal and the mundanely human stirred through each artwork in equal measure.

Celebrated works from Bunny, Smudge and other acclaimed series including Not Good at Human and Monster present Borland’s unique practice over a 10-year period, and will be shown alongside the artist’s enthralling large-scale lenticular works.
